What is Lock Tab?

"Lock Tab" is a Chrome extension that ensures prevention from accidental tab closures. This extension adds a padlock icon that allows users to switch a tab's state between locked and unlocked. Please note, after locking a tab some interaction on the page is required for the feature to function as per Google Chrome's mechanism.

ChromeOS Version 124.0.6367.225, Chrome browser Version 125.0.6422.141 - Installed, added tabs, interacted with them, but no lock symbol and both clicking the "x" and Ctrl-W closed the tabs. - Performed hard reload of each tab and the lock icon appeared, but I could still close the tabs by either method. - Restarted computer; same results. Am I doing something wrong? Do I misunderstand what the extension is supposed to do?
