en | Hey @Tiff so, I understand what you are trying to say, grammarly is an ai, so when you ask it to "IMPROVE IT", it uses ai to improve or correct it, so when turnitin scans it, it detects ai content, if this would have happened with me, I would also be very depressed that my original ideas are being flagged as ai content, I am also very interested in academics, so, I am also very concerned about this and due to your review, when I have to write essays in later grades, I will not use grammarly. |

I have noticed that your company has devoted a lot of money to promotion and advertisement. However, the issue of false positive AI writing detection by Turnitin is making students reluctant to use Grammarly. Even though the university's guidelines did not state that using Grammarly for a grammar check is not allowed, many students are facing the same issue as me. When I used Grammarly, it was considered cheating by using AI according to Turnitin's AI writing detection. I am still trying my best to prove that I was flagged by Turnitin's AI writing detection. However, the lecturers told me that they only trust the result of Turnitin, instead of any explanation, which has made me very depressed. |

en | Update 17/5/2024: I contacted the help desk, and the team won't help. I received the same generic reply and ridiculous advice, which is of no help. After that, they locked up the ticket. Don't bother with them. They are a lost cause. All they care about is money. Grammarly is garbage, and so is the team that runs it. The application, extension, and desktop client are garbage. It can only check your basic spelling, and that’s it. Before these malicious updates, it was a useful tool, but now it requires you to subscribe to use even basic suggestions that were free. The company appears to be close to insolvency after donating $5 million to Ukraine, and they are doing everything in their power to extract as much cash as possible from their clients by restricting the use of their product. Corrections are trash and erroneous. The delivery suggestions are dreadful and meant to omit every unwanted word from the text, making your writing generic and amiable. The worst part is that you cannot deactivate it. Even if you label it wrong, it will suggest it again. The developers even removed some options from Grammarly GO, such as improving your text's fluency, and I could bet they locked it behind a subscription. They even trained their AI to improve your writing, rejecting your proposal to improve the text if it contains sensitive language such as Ukraine, combat, bombing, or any other words that collude with their country or Russia. The worst thing ever! Use any of their competitors, such as ProWritingAid, a language tool, QuillBot, or Trinka. You’ll have better luck with them. I also noticed that one million people removed this extension from their browsers within a day. Excellent. Perhaps that will wake them up, but my hopes are low for them. Screw this! |

en | It is only useful when you want to write English in the most robotic and inhuman way. It tends to remove all words related to human emotions from your sentences, like "so much," "just," "liking," etc. About 80% of the time, if you use those words, Grammarly will tend to remove all those words and thencompletely change the meaning of your sentence. SO DO NOT USE GRAMMARLY! Use something else that only corrects grammar errors. and If you want an app to rewrite your content and for the clarity sake, use ChatGPT or even Copilot; they are far better than this shxt! also they have locked the stupid yellow markings mechanism for 3times per day, this yellow marking correction! From time to time, it changes the meaning and emphasis of the whole content. after 3 years it is just getting worse and worse, finally I just can't bear this shxt anymore, just hating this app so much if can give it a negative! |
